Job Description

Sustainable Development Initiatives (SDI) is seeking Global Board Members to provide strategic guidance and oversight for their mission of promoting social justice and sustainable development across Africa. Candidates with senior-level expertise in areas such as fundraising, program development, governance, and environmental sustainability are encouraged to apply. The position is open to all nationalities and is remote, with an application deadline of July 15, 2026.

About SDI
Sustainable Development Initiatives (SDI) is an international, non-governmental, non-partisan, and non-profit civil society organization operating in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. SDI works to promote social justice, sustainable development, peacebuilding, education, health, youth empowerment, women's empowerment, food security, environmental sustainability, governance, advocacy, research, and economic inclusion.

Key Expectations of Board Members
Board Members will

Provide strategic oversight and governance support.
Advise on organizational growth and sustainability.
Support fundraising and resource mobilization efforts.

Promote SDI's mission and visibility globally.
Participate in quarterly board meetings and committee activities.
Serve as ambassadors for SDI's values and objectives.
