Job Description
Bowron Environmental Group is seeking an Intermediate Environmental Specialist in Calgary, AB, to manage site closure and liability projects for the oil and gas industry. Responsibilities include conducting environmental site assessments, developing work plans, interpreting data, and mentoring junior staff. Candidates should have approximately 5 years of relevant experience and a degree in environmental sciences or a related field. Intermediate Environmental Specialist – Site Closure, Liability Management
Bowron Environmental Group Ltd. (Bowron) is a growing multi-disciplinary environmental management company focused on providing innovative and effective services to the upstream oil & gas industry.
Our Site Closure, Liability Management, and Regulatory division is currently looking for a dedicated and motivated professional to join our team as an Intermediate Environmental Specialist.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Working closely with senior management, clients, and landowners to prioritize workload as efficiently and effectively as possible.
• Coordination, execution, and reporting of Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), as well as reclamation, remediation, risk assessment, soil monitoring, and groundwater monitoring programs.
• Develop and implementation of work plans.
• Interpretation of data and report preparation.
• Keeping current on the environmental and regulatory environment in Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia and communicating any updates to clients and colleagues.
• Assisting in the development, monitoring and improvement of QA/QC programs and tools, and
• Training/mentoring junior staff.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
• Approximately 5 years of relevant experience, with a strong field background.
• Degree or diploma in environmental sciences or a related field. A professional designation would be considered an asset.
• A strong technical background and familiarity with the protocols, procedures, and analyses associated with the field execution of site assessment, remediation, surface and groundwater monitoring, and spill response projects.
• Strong ability to plan and remain organized in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong attention to detail, and
• Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills.
