Hawaii Green Growth - Communications & Outreach VISTA

The Hawaii Green Growth - Communications & Outreach VISTA position at AmeriCorps is a full-time role focused on supporting sustainability goals through communications and community engagement. The VISTA will enhance partner communications and outreach while developing resources for the Aloha+ Challenge. This role aims to alleviate poverty by fostering local workforce development, food security, and youth leadership. Benefits include a relocation allowance, living allowance, and health coverage.
Through its public-private partnership, Hawaii Green Growth catalyzes action on the Aloha+ Challenge, a statewide commitment to achieve Hawaii’s sustainability goals and local framework to implement global Sustainable Development Goals. The Aloha+ Challenge was launched in 2014 by HGG public and private sector partners with leadership from the State, Counties, Office of Hawaiian Affairs, and State Legislature. The Aloha+ Challenge is based on stakeholder-driven, time-bound sustainability goals and indicators, which are measured through an open-data impact Dashboard. HGG works with public and private partners on joint policies, initiatives, and communications that advance Hawaii’s Aloha+ Challenge goals. The Aloha+ Challenge Dashboard is an online open-data platform to track progress, provide accountability and ensure transparency on Hawaii’s economic, social, and environmental priorities.





















Member Duties : This is a full-time position that will support Hawaii Green Growth’s work as a UN Local2030 Hub through communications, partner and community engagement, and outreach on local and global sustainability goals. The VISTA will build long-term capacity for partner communications, community engagement and outreach, and new organizational systems to amplify impact, and develop legacy resources to facilitate on-going action on the Aloha+ Challenge. The overarching VISTA project works to alleviate poverty by (1) supporting development of a technical and local workforce via a new Dashboard Lab, (2) advancing progress on the State's food security goals through new public and private sector commitments to local food production, and (3) supporting the next generation of local leaders by providing a new growth pathway that cultivates student knowledge and fosters youth leadership.
