Job Description

Cyrq Energy is seeking a full-time Instrumentation & Controls Technician in Calipatria, CA. The role involves designing, developing, and overseeing control systems for a geothermal power plant, reviewing processes for efficiency, and providing technical support. Candidates should have a high school diploma (or equivalent), technical certification preferred, and five years of experience in control systems. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in various environments are required.
Full-timeDescriptionThe Instrumentation and Controls (I & C) Technician designs, develops, installs, executes, and oversees electrical or mechanical control systems for a geothermal power plant and will also review plant processes and designs for efficiency improvements.

Responsibilities:

Electrical and Control Systems.

Reviews electrical plans for retrofits and plant projects.Manages electrical testing and protective relaying testing program.Provides technical support and assistance for Cyrq operations, maintenance, and business development.Assists with root cause analysis for failures and safety incidents.Develops various business cases for proposed projects.Develops control philosophies and cause & effect documentation.Supports Process Safety Management (PSM) for Cyrq including performing HAZOP analyses and reviews, and management of change process for process modifications, retrofits and overhaulsMaintains control system backup configuration files.Documents work performed and drafts specifications or instructions for future use.Completes redlining and updating of plant one-lines, schematics, electrical distribution, wiring diagrams and other electrical and controls related documentation including control philosophies and cause and effect documentation.Company Support

Adheres to, supports, and helps enforce all company safety and environmental rules, policies, and procedures.Assists with causality control measures during plant upset conditions, including containment, control, and corrective actions.Completes all required safety, process, equipment, or related trainings by deadlines.RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalent education. Associate or higher or technical certification in Controls Systems, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field preferred.Five or more years of experience managing control systems in a production or manufacturing environment preferred. Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency with industry codes and standards including NEC and NFPAProficient with configuring and modifying control logic in PLC, VFD configurations, and HMI graphics.Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and in writingAbility to work with minimal supervision, while demonstrating responsible behavior and attention to detailAbility to sit, stand, walk moderate distances, twist, stoop/bend, squat, kneel, crawl, reach, push, pull, and climb stairs or ladders regularly.Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.Ablility to tolerate remote environments, indoor /outdoor work, wildlife, possible dust, dirt, and wind, including any weather typical for all seasons in southern CA, NV, or UT.Ability to don all forms of required Personal Protective Equipment and work at heights of up to 60’.Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.Location:
