Job Description

The Appalachian Conservation Corps is offering Individual Placements in Mt Crawford, VA, engaging individuals in specialized projects with land management agencies and nonprofits. Appalachian Conservation Corps engages individuals in positions with federal, state and local land management agencies and environmentally focused non-profits working on specialized projects.

INDIVIDUAL PLACEMENTS (IPS)

Appalachian Conservation Corps’ individual placement program partners with federal and regional public land management agencies and environmentally focused nonprofits to host interns completing a variety of specialized projects.

DETAILS

During your term, you will be trained by conservation professionals and get hands-on experience to build on your skillset, opening doors to further your career. Depending on your position, you may receive beneficial trainings, certifications, and other professional development opportunities.

• Documentarian Individual Placement • Shenandoah National Park, Luray, VA, May 18th, 2026 – March 26th, 2027 (45 weeks)
• SAR Volunteer Program Individual Placement • Shenandoah National Park, Luray, VA, May 18th, 2026 – August 3rd, 2026 (10 weeks)
• Buffers Assessment Individual Placement • Alliance for the Shenandoah Valley, Mt. Crawford, VA or New Market, VA, Starts end of May 2026 for an 18-week term
• Youth Crew Lead IP • Shenandoah National Park Trust, Charlottesville, VA, June 1st, 2026 – August 7th, 2026 (10 weeks)
• Invasive Plant Management Individual Placement • National Park Service, Dingmans Ferry, PA, June 1st, 2026 – December 11th, 2026 (28 weeks)
