Horticultural nursery propagator/grower

Native West Nursery in San Diego, CA is seeking a full-time Horticultural nursery propagator/grower. Responsibilities include cultivating plants, monitoring growth, and maintaining cleanliness in the growing area. Candidates should have some experience, physical stamina, and knowledge of plant care. Responsibilities: - Cultivate and care for plants in a greenhouse or outdoor farm setting - Monitor plant growth and health, making adjustments as needed - Use hand tools and equipment to maintain and harvest crops - Irrigate plants according to their specific needs - Apply fertilizers and pesticides as directed - Perform basic math calculations for measuring and mixing solutions - Collect data on plant growth, yields, and environmental conditions - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the growing area Requirements: - Previous experience in a similar role preferred, but not required - Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical labor as needed - Knowledge of basic mechanical systems for greenhouse operations - Familiarity with gardening techniques and plant care principles - Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately - Good communication skills to work effectively with team members Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
