Job Description

Climate Connection is seeking a freelance Event Coordinator to manage operations and marketing for their events, including Climate Tech Time and Founders Connect. The role involves logistics, digital communication, CRM management, and content creation. Candidates should be organized and adaptable, capable of handling multiple tasks. The position is remote, with in-person attendance required for events once a month and once a quarter.
About the opportunity

We are looking for an organised and self-motivated Events Coordinator to join us on a freelance basis. You will take ownership of the operational and marketing functions that keep both Climate Tech Time and Founders Connect running smoothly each month, working closely with the Event Lead.

This is a varied, hands-on role that spans event logistics, digital communications, CRM management, and content. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing multiple workstreams independently and adapting quickly when things change.

What you need to know about Climate Connection

Fed up with stuffy conferences, boring speeches, and dinners where you’re stuck sitting next to one person? 🥱

So are we. At Climate Connection, we create the types of events we wish we were invited to: events with thoughtful conversations, curated connections, and real learning.

We are on a mission to grow the climate tech ecosystem through meaningful connections.

The 2 Events you'll be supporting

Climate Tech Time

Climate Tech Time is the UK’s biggest monthly event for climate tech.

We play a key role in bringing together the climate ecosystem: every month, 150+ startups, investors, corporations, and policy-makers attend and connect at the event. The emphasis is on genuine connection and learning.

Founders Connect

Founders Connect is a quarterly invite-only event exclusively for startup founders.

We create a confidential space for founders to genuinely address the challenges they’re working on. Founders Connect gives leadership teams access to free office hours with expert service providers, an Executive Challenge Circle, and a fireside chat with an experienced later-stage founder.

What to Expect

Event Operations

Set up and manage Eventbrite listings for Climate Tech Time and the Founders Connect application process via Typeform and Squarespace

Build, test, and maintain Zapier integrations connecting Eventbrite and Typeform to our Notion database

Manage weekly data imports and maintain data quality across our Notion CRM, including keeping the Founders Connect invite list up to date

Handle inventory checks, food and beverage approvals, and logistics coordination with venue partners

Recruit, brief, and manage volunteers for each event

Liaise with local venue teams in the lead-up to each event to share guest lists, coordinate venue setup, catering, and event logistics

Communications and Marketing

Plan and send pre- and post-event email campaigns via Mailchimp

Create speaker and event assets using Canva, including LinkedIn promotional graphics

Draft and publish LinkedIn posts relating to event promotion

Develop marketing collateral for distribution across partner channels, ensuring materials are approved before going live

Manage the monthly newsletter and maintain the events calendar

Monitor and respond to the admin inbox in a timely manner, including follow-ups to outreach campaigns

On the Day

Coordinate office hours providers, manage volunteers, and provide general operational support throughout the event. You will be needed in person:

Once a month, for Climate Tech Time from 12-9:30pm

Once a quarter for Founders Connect from 12:00–22:00pm

Who are we looking for?

You’re the perfect fit if you have:

Top notch organisational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities independently

Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging copy across email, social media, and newsletters

Demonstrable experience using Mailchimp to manage and send campaigns, including list segmentation and deduplication

Proven ability to build and manage Zapier automations, with an understanding of how to troubleshoot integration errors

Strong working knowledge of Notion, particularly relational databases and data management

Proficiency in Canva and an eye for producing clean, consistent visual assets

Comfortable working flexibly around a monthly and quarterly event cycle, including 1-2 half-day commitments for in-person events per month

Bonus points if you have

Previous experience with Eventbrite, Typeform, Squarespace, or similar event and survey platforms

Familiarity with Google Workspace (Sheets, Calendar, Drive)

An interest in or existing knowledge of the climate tech sector

Additional Information

Contract Type: Contractor

Hours: Approximately 10-15 hours per week

Rate: £20-25 per hour

Location: Remote, with in-person attendance required at monthly Climate Tech Time events and quarterly Founders Connect events in London

The workload is not evenly distributed across the month. The week leading up to each event is considerably busier, and candidates should be comfortable managing a higher volume of tasks during that period. In-person attendance is required from 12-9:30pm at the monthly Climate Tech Time events, and from 2-10pm at the quarterly Founders Connect events.
