Job Description
GREENMAN-PEDERSEN INC. is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Analyst with at least 5 years of experience for their Environmental Department in Portsmouth, NH. Responsibilities include site reconnaissance, wetland delineations, environmental reviews, and permitting for infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate should possess a strong work ethic, collaborative skills, and experience in environmental legislation, particularly in New England. A BA/BS in a related field is required.
GPI is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Analyst with at least 5 years of experience for our growing Environmental Department. The qualified candidate will conduct site reconnaissance, wetland delineations, environmental reviews, and permitting for transportation and infrastructure improvement land development projects in New England. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a desire to learn with and mentor others, a willingness to work collaboratively with a team, and the ability to work on multiple concurrent projects.

Responsibilities:
Conduct wetland delineations and soil mapping in Massachusetts and New HampshirePrepare delineation reports to document existing conditions and notify clients of potential environmental constraints or concerns Review historic and cultural resources within or adjacent to proposed projectsPrepare permit documents to be filed under local, state, and federal regulationsAssist in preparing NEPA and MEPA environmental documentsCreate environmental plans to accompany permitting documentsQuantify impacts to wetlands and other environmentally sensitive areasIdentify appropriate locations and methods for stormwater management and impact mitigationCoordinate project reviews with various clients and local, state, and federal agenciesAttend hearings and present the project and its proposed impacts to state agencies, local boards, and commissionsRespond to comments generated during the local, state, and federal review processesCoordinate with project abutters and concerned citizensCoordinate with contractors during construction to ensure compliance with permit approvals
Qualifications:
BA / BS in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Environmental Engineering, or other related fieldInterest in working on transportation and infrastructure engineering projectsExperience in environmental legislation and review/permitting processes, particularly in Massachusetts and New HampshireWPIT, PWS, CWS, or other relevant certification a plusAutoCAD, MicroStation, or HydroCAD experience a plus
