Market Analyst – Solar and BESS

The Green Recruitment Company is seeking a Market Analyst - Solar and BESS based in Manila, Philippines. The role involves technical and commercial analysis in the renewable energy sector across APAC, focusing on battery storage market development, power market understanding, and collaboration with engineering teams. Candidates should have a relevant degree and at least 3 years of experience in the energy sector, particularly in BESS or solar.
Our client is looking for a Market Analyst - Solar and BESS to provide technical and commercial analysis in the renewable energy space across the APAC region. This role is based in Manila within the Investment team, working closely with the Engineering and Development teams.


TGRC is proud to partner with a global renewable energy developer with a capacity of over 1.15 GW worldwide, specialising in developing, engineering, and financing of utility-scale solar farms.



Key Responsibilities:


Support battery storage market development activities across APAC by monitoring new incentives and policies, new market mechanisms, revenue streams, and regulatory changes.




Gain an in-depth understanding of major APAC power markets and brief the wider team on new market development.




Support the technical aspects of battery storage by defining battery use cases and considering grid conditions and regulations.




Collaborate with engineering teams on battery size optimisation, whilst taking into account costs and profitability upside.




Liaise with stakeholders, and local development teams on energy storage project development and bid preparations.




Lastly, providing support on project valuations and commercialisation strategy.




Your Profile:


Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, or a related field.




3+ years experience in the energy sector in the APAC region.




Additionally, experience or research in BESS or Solar/Grid connection is highly regarded.




Experience building both financial and technical investment cases for utility-scale projects.




Ability to draft investment review documents and proposals to the Investment Committee that provide clear analysis of investment and performance metrics.




In addition, proactive, creative, and able to navigate challenges in a new market.




Lastly, interest in battery storage and renewable energy.
