Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Development & Construction Senior Manager

MN8 Energy seeks an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Development & Construction Senior Manager in Boca Raton, FL. This role involves leading EHS strategy for projects including EV charging and solar energy, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and enhancing risk controls. The manager will work closely with various teams to implement scalable EHS processes and support safe project execution from development through construction.

Position Overview:

At MN8, we are building the future of clean energy infrastructure—and safety, environmental stewardship, and contractor accountability are foundational to how we develop, build, and operate. We are seeking a highly experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Development & Construction Manager to lead EHS strategy and execution across our development and construction portfolio, including EV charging infrastructure, solar, and battery energy storage. This role will translate enterprise EHS strategy into field-ready systems that reduce serious injury and fatality potential, strengthen critical risk controls, ensure environmental compliance, and support safe project execution from early-stage development through construction turnover.




You will report directly to the Director of EHS Programs and operate within a matrixed organization, partnering closely with Development, Construction, Asset Management, Operations, Legal, Procurement, and Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor partners. You will help build scalable EHS processes in a fast-moving environment, influence through line management, and provide executive-ready reporting that supports informed decision-making and continuous improvement.




As the EHS Development & Construction Senior Manager, you will:

Lead the deployment of EHS policies, procedures, and management system expectations aligned with MN8’s enterprise EHS strategy and applicable ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 principles.Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910 and 29 CFR 1926), State OSHA Plan requirements (e.g., Cal/OSHA, Oregon OSHA, Washington DOSH), and other occupational health and safety regulations applicable to MN8 operations.Serve as the EHS lead across the project lifecycle, from development due diligence and permitting through construction execution, commissioning, turnover, and handoff to Asset Management and Operations.Advance MN8’s focus on serious injury and fatality prevention by identifying SIF/SIFp exposures, verifying critical controls, and driving measurable reduction of high-risk work exposure across active projects.Partner with and provide governance oversight to the Environmental & Permitting Development Team to ensure environmental site assessment processes, permit condition tracking, and regulatory compliance programs are effectively implemented and maintained, supporting compliance with stormwater/NPDES, SPCC, hazardous waste/RCRA, release reporting, wildlife/avian requirements, and other applicable federal, state, and local requirements.Review development-phase due diligence and permits, ensuring mitigation strategies are in place and/or escalations are completed for risks such as flood modeling, geotechnical investigations, air quality, sound/vibration, traffic, cultural heritage, land constraints, and environmental transition risks.Ensure findings, permit requirements, open obligations, as-built conditions, and operational environmental aspects are transferred to construction, Asset Management, and Operations with clear ownership and accountability through MN8 Handover processes.Manage EPC contractors EHS performance through supplier prequalification, Avetta or similar contractor management platforms, onboarding expectations, field audits, corrective action tracking, and escalation through line management.Develop requirements for, provide oversight of, and monitor site-specific EHS plans, job hazard analyses, emergency response plans, and controls for high-risk work such as electrical work, LOTO, work at height, lifting and rigging, excavation, energized systems, traffic interface, and severe weather response.Embed EHS expectations into preconstruction planning, project kickoff meetings, Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC) meetings, contractor forums, and periodic EPC contractor EHS engagement sessions.Track and report to Development, Construction and Estar VP’s leading and lagging indicators, with emphasis on SIF/SIFp, Key Performance Indicators, critical control verification, audit findings, corrective action closure, training completion, environmental compliance status, and contractor performance trends.Use EHS systems, dashboards, contractor portals, audit tools, and ServiceNow-style workflows to manage requests, document decisions, improve visibility, and provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and executive-level reporting.Develop and source training programs, promote a strong EHS culture, and maintain a visible leadership presence in the field.Oversee incident investigations completed by EPC vendors, evaluate root causes and causal factors, verify corrective actions, and scale lessons learned across active and future projects, ensure timely and accurate reporting by development and construction business into the EHS reporting tools.Stay ahead of regulatory changes impacting development and construction activities, maintain relevant EHS procedures within the vertical, and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, regulators, agencies, and external partners.


Our Ideal Candidate will have:

10+ years of progressive EHS experience in construction, power generation, transmission, utilities, renewable energy, or large-scale infrastructure development.Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.Strong command of OSHA requirements, construction safety practices, environmental permitting, and contractor EHS management.Experience managing EPC contractors, including prequalification, onboarding, field audits, performance reviews, corrective action closure, and escalation of unresolved risk.Demonstrated ability to identify high-risk work, evaluate SIF/SIFp exposures, and verify effective critical controls in field environments.Experience with environmental due diligence, permit compliance, site transition risks, and regulatory obligations across multiple jurisdictions.Proven ability to lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and cross-project learning.Advanced skills in data analysis, KPI tracking, dashboard use, and executive-ready reporting that translates EHS performance into actionable insights.Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence in a matrixed organization and present to executives, agencies, contractors, and community stakeholders.Track record of building scalable processes, improving EHS culture, and driving accountability across distributed project teams.


Preferred Qualifications

Professional certification such as CSP, ASP, SMS, CHMM, or equivalent.Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.Experience deploying or maintaining programs aligned with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 frameworks.Experience with Avetta or similar contractor prequalification platforms, EHS SaaS platforms, audit management tools, and ServiceNow-style request or workflow systems.Renewable energy experience across solar, battery energy storage, EV charging infrastructure, or distributed energy construction.


Additional Requirements

Ability to travel regularly to project and office locations, typically up to 40–60%, with occasional international travel as business needs require.Valid driver’s license and flexibility in scheduling to support field activities, contractor engagement, and project milestones.
