Job Description

TekPro is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager to oversee projects related to underground fuel tanks in Illinois. The role involves managing project scopes, timelines, and budgets while ensuring regulatory compliance. Candidates should have project management experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects. The position requires collaboration with internal teams and clients, along with conducting site assessments and preparing reports.
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and solution-oriented Environmental Project Manager to join our client's growing team. Our company specializes in working with owner/operators of underground fuel tanks throughout Illinois, focusing on innovative projects that create a lasting, positive impact on the environment and local communities.

Position Overview

The Environmental Project Manager will oversee environmental projects from initiation to completion, ensuring efficiency, regulatory compliance, and adherence to budget and timelines. This role requires strong expertise in environmental sciences and project management, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. While prior project management experience is preferred, we are willing to train candidates with relevant environmental experience.



Key Responsibilities

Lead environmental work related to Leaking Underground Storage Tanks (LUST), the site remediation program, and Phase II Environmental projects in Illinois.Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and reimbursement plans while ensuring compliance with Illinois EPA regulations.Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, consultants, and clients to achieve project goals.Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.Conduct site assessments and environmental impact analyses to maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.Prepare and present reports, proposals, and environmental impact statements to clients and regulatory agencies.Maintain project documentation, including reports, permits, and certifications.Collaborate with business development teams to identify new opportunities and potential clients.Stay up to date with industry regulations, trends, and best practices to provide innovative client solutions

Qualifications

Proven experience in project management, including scheduling and lifecycle management.Strong negotiation and scope management skills.Proficiency in budgeting and time management.Experience in change management and team leadership is preferred.
