Job Description

Alaska Resources & Environmental Services is hiring an Environmental Field Technician in Fairbanks, AK. Responsibilities include collecting soil, groundwater, and air samples, assisting with site monitoring and remediation, and writing environmental reports. Candidates should have a BS in a relevant field, experience in environmental sampling, and OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification. The position is in-person with full-time and part-time options available.
Job Overview :
Alaska Resources and Environmental Services, LLC is an environmental consulting firm located in Fairbanks, Alaska. We specialize in Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, Site Remediation and Closure, Stormwater Pollution Prevention (SWPPP) plans, Site Safety Health plans (SSHP), Spill Prevention, Field Sampling and Analysis Workplans, Corrective Action Workplans and Quality Assurance Project (QAPP) Plans.

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Environmental Field Technician to join our team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Collection of soil, groundwater and air samples.
• Assist with site characterizations, site monitoring and remediation activities
• Assist in writing various types of workplans for environmental field work
• Assist in writing various environmental sampling reports
• Conduct laboratory data review and validation
• Communicate between clients and regulators
• Traveling may be occasionally required.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times during operations.

Desired Skills
• Possess a BS in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Natural Sciences, Geology, or other related fields.
• Experience in environmental sampling and fieldwork experience is desired.
• Must be able to list 40 pounds and walk for 10 hours a day
• Must be able to work in the outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to pass a background check for military base access
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Must have a valid drivers license.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft word and Excel
• Applicants must currently possess OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification or a valid refresher prior to employment.

Full time and seasonal positions are available. Compensation is DOE.
