WWC Sheridan has an immediate opening for an Environmental Specialist. This role will support environmental compliance, assessment, and remediation work for a variety of projects. This role is field-forward and documentation-heavy, supporting planning and execution of environmental field activities, compiling and interpreting environmental information, assisting with permitting and compliance programs, and preparing clear technical deliverables for clients and agencies.

WWC Engineering (WWC) is a multi-disciplinary, professional firm specializing in Civil/Site, Environmental, Land Development, Mining, Municipal, NEPA, Oil & Gas, Planning, Roads/Bridges, Surveying, Water/Wastewater and Water Resources services.

Essential Duties & Functions:
Plan and support environmental data collection and documentation for compliance, assessment, and restoration or remediation-related activities
Coordinate and oversee field activities such as site inspections, interviews, contractor oversight, and environmental sampling (soil, surface water, groundwater, and related media as needed)
Implement and maintain environmental compliance programs and plans
Conduct field inspections and evaluations to confirm compliance with project requirements and applicable regulations
Compile, review, and interpret environmental data and observations to assess conditions, identify concerns, and support decision-making
Support investigation and documentation of potential or known releases to soil, surface water, or groundwater, including appropriate follow-up actions and reporting support
Prepare and review technical documents such as permit applications, environmental plans, compliance reports, agency correspondence, and supporting exhibits
Coordinate with clients, internal teams, contractors, landowners, and regulatory agencies to maintain alignment, schedules, and compliance
Use GIS and mapping tools to develop figures and exhibits that communicate project boundaries, sampling locations, and environmental information
Support project planning, scheduling, and budget tracking for environmental scope items
Provide practical field direction to junior staff and field crews on safe, consistent sampling and documentation practices
Support proposal development and business development activities as requested (qualifications, scope input, or interview participation)
Maintain field equipment and documentation in accordance with manufacturer guidance and company standards
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Natural Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, Rangeland Ecology, Watershed Management, or a related field
Five or more years of related experience in environmental compliance, field assessment/sampling, permitting, reclamation/restoration, or similar environmental project work
This position will involve some travel (using WWC vehicles) and thus this offer is made on the condition that you have a valid driver's license and that you are able to be covered by WWC's vehicle insurance. This offer is also contingent upon passing a pre-employment drug & alcohol test. Please note that this is an offer of at-will employment and does not constitute an employment contract between us.
