OverviewEnergy Procurement ManagerLocation: REMOTE USAThe Energy Procurement Manager is a mid-level position providing comprehensive energy procurement services by supplying product recommendations, market analysis, pricing evaluation, and contract management to ENGIE Impact clients. They are experts on all deregulated energy markets, independently providing these services for clients throughout North America.Role ResponsibilitiesProvide energy procurement consulting services to each assigned client; including, but not limited to: RFP development, market assessment, risk management, strategy development, contract negotiation, contract management, and product managementIndependently develop and maintain contacts within a client organizationDemonstrate an authoritative and consultative approach that builds support within the client organizationMaintain thorough knowledge and understanding of regulatory marketsMeet regularly with clients, including in-person visits and teleconferencesCommunicate with utilities, local distribution companies, and energy suppliers to gather timely, accurate, and complete energy market intelligenceExplain and educate clients on difficult energy market dynamics and metricsAssist in development of new energy procurement products and marketing materialsOversee Regulated Rates Monitoring & Optimization product for subscribing clientsPerform other duties as assignedEducation and Experience Bachelor's Degree preferred, with concentration in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Sustainability, Business Administration, or related discipline.4+ year of relevant experience, particularly in the areas of energy procurement, energy contracting, renewable energy products, utility tariffs, finance, risk management, quantitative analysis, or buying/ selling retail energy.Working knowledge of PUC, utility rules, regulations and tariffs preferredExperience with Energy Supply Management workflow and platforms preferredUtility experience or knowledge of utility bill calculations preferred.May consider a combination of relevant experience with educational and other skills and abilities in lieu of educational requirementsSkills and AbilitiesStrong verbal, written and interpersonal skillsExperience with Microsoft Office suite of productsDemonstrated mathematical and analytical abilityAbility to provide world-class customer service to both internal and external customers, combined with strong communication, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal relationship skillsStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and delegate work as appropriateStrong database and analysis skillsAbility to make complex decisions, juggling multiple high-priority deadlines, and complete large volumes of workWork EnvironmentWork schedules are determined by business need and manager discretion; full time employment is considered 40 hours per weekHealth & Safety Working RequirementsAdequate working surface (can fit two monitors, a keyboard, mouse, and docking station)Adjustable ergonomic chairProper LightingHeating, air conditioning and ventilation to create a comfortable environmentAppropriate internet and bandwidth to conduct businessIncumbent may be exposed to frequent noise caused by telephones, office machines, and nearby oral communications among fellow employeesAs a global organization, attending meetings and events during early mornings and evenings may be requiredPerforming duties and attending events during the evening and on the weekend occurs occasionally and may be requiredTraveling off-site to employee and client locations, events and vendor meetings occurs rarely but may be requiredRequired Physical AbilitiesExtended Periods of Sitting : Ability to remain seated for long periods, with regular breaks as needed.Visual Acuity : Ability to view computer screens and read documents for extended periods.Frequent Use of Hands : Ability to use hands for typing, handling documents, and operating office equipment.Communication : Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, through various mediums including phone, email, and video conferencing.Mobility : Ability to move within an office environment to access files, office machinery, and attend meetings.Reaching and Handling : Ability to reach, handle, and manipulate objects and equipment within an office or remote workspace.Occasional Lifting : Ability to lift and move items, such as files or office supplies, typically up to 10 pounds.Flexibility : Ability to perform tasks that may require bending, twisting, or standing briefly to access materials or equipment.AccommodationsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.Benefits at ENGIE ImpactAt ENGIE, our goal is to support, promote, and thrive on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
