About the Role:We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Water Sector Analyst to provide strategic technical expertise and leadership in the water sector. The ideal candidate will have over 6 years of relevant experience, a strong background in project management and stakeholder engagement, and an in-depth understanding of sustainable water and wastewater technologies. This role will involve spearheading key projects, influencing policy, and supporting municipalities in building resilient water systems.

Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the lead technical expert on water sector projects, delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for water resource management.
• Develop comprehensive business cases for water infrastructure investments, providing high-level technical support to municipalities and governmental entities.
• Lead multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and promoting cross-sectoral collaboration.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including Western Cape municipalities, water technology providers, and other key players, to foster partnerships and unlock funding opportunities.
• Conduct thorough analysis of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, focusing on non-sewered sanitation technologies and strategies for wider adoption.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to their professional development within the water programme.
• Provide expert input into strategic initiatives, policy discussions, and project management frameworks to support the organization's mission.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Masters degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, or Resource Management.
• 6+ years of experience in the water sector, with demonstrated leadership in technical and investment-focused projects.
• Extensive knowledge of sustainable water and wastewater infrastructure technologies, including non-sewered sanitation systems.
• Strong existing network within the water sector, particularly with stakeholders in Western Cape municipalities and water technology providers.
• Proven track record of delivering technical support to municipalities and building high-quality stakeholder relationships.
• Experience in project analysis and investment pipeline development within the water sector.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders across business, government, and funding bodies.
• Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills with experience in identifying and defining market growth interventions.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage projects and teams, as well as maintain productive stakeholder relationships.
