Role Overview
The Renewable Energy Market & Advocacy Lead will play a key role in advancing renewable energy deployment in Malaysia by connecting policy, market realities, and stakeholder collaboration.
This role focuses on policy advocacy, market enablement, and program coordination, and is well suited for a professional with hands-on renewable energy market experience who is motivated to create broader social and environmental impact.
You will work closely with government bodies, corporates, industry stakeholders, and regional partners to support clean energy adoption and policy alignment.
Key Responsibilities
Policy Advocacy & Stakeholder Engagement
Engage with government bodies and relevant stakeholders through policy roundtables and working groups
Monitor and summarize energy policy and regulatory developments
Translate policy updates into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders
Prepare concise policy updates and briefing materials
Renewable Energy Market & Procurement Support
Support renewable energy deployment, with a focus on PPA / REC procurement and corporate sourcing challenges
Connect energy buyers, developers, investors, and technology providers through structured initiatives
Identify market and policy barriers and support practical responses
Plan and facilitate focused workshops and working sessions
Ecosystem & Program Coordination
Build relationships with key stakeholders across Malaysia
Support ecosystem growth through events, outreach, and partnerships
Promote emerging solutions such as grid innovations, energy storage, and digital platforms
Contribute to program sustainability through coordination with sponsors and partners
Experience & Skills
5+ years of experience in renewable energy, cleantech, or related policy or market fields
(e.g. power project development, PPA-related roles, or advisory/consulting work)
Understanding of Malaysia’s energy policy, renewable procurement frameworks, and decarbonization context
Solid knowledge of PPAs, RECs, and relevant market or regulatory challenges
-level proficiency in Malay and business-level proficiency in English
Strong communication, analytical, and presentation skills
Clear motivation to contribute to clean energy deployment and long-term decarbonization impact
Working Style & Environment

High level of autonomy and ownership, with opportunities to collaborate across functions and markets
