Role Description

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)'s mission is to shape Bank strategy and risk management at enterprise level, unconstrained by risk types and geographies, together with ERM's partners in Risk and the Bank.
As part of this remit, ERM is supporting efforts within Risk to develop a climate risk management framework encompassing governance, risk identification and monitoring, scenario analysis and risk appetite setting.
You will be responsible for all aspects of this development work, working in close coordination with Subject Matter Experts across Risk and more widely and ensuring that our climate risk framework is aligned with evolving regulatory requirements.

Your key responsibilities

Execute climate risk metric production processes (python scripts) and be process owner; analyze portfolio Financed Emissions and Net Zero metrics / data, identify key risk drivers, trends, & derive conclusions and recommendations
Analyze client reports on Climate Risk disclosures / industry developments / regulatory landscape markets research from internal and external sources
Produce regular monthly / quarterly climate risk reports, combining findings from portfolio analysis; monitoring and reporting portfolio threshold/limit breaches and providing recommendations to remediate breaches to team leads /senior management
Support enhancement of the ERM Portfolio frameworks including developing methodologies to strengthen risk appetite setting and measurement
Engaging with employees from across Risk to ensure that framework development is reflected in relevant policies and procedures
Process optimization, strengthen controls, mitigate operational risks
Undertake Change work in the form of:
system migrations/ upgrades with IT dept, etc.
updates and/or migrations to newer/ better methodologies/ datasets



Your skills and experience

1-3 years of experience and familiarity with one or more of risk disciplines (e.g. credit, market or operational risk) and/ or banking products/ processes.
Strong process and analytical skills and independent drive to constantly improve our climate risk reporting processes via improved analytics, controls and scalability, as well as enhanced system/ application coverage
Proficiency in Python is a must. Other skills such as Tableau would be a plus
Good understanding of climate risk implications would also be a strong plus, preferably with relevant professional experience
Ability to liaise with senior management and present information to senior management in an appropriate way (quality & format).
Hands-on working approach with good analytical skills and strong attention to detail
Excellent communication skills- able to communicate clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing
Entrepreneurial mind-set, with ability to be resourceful and streamline processes
Self-starter and has willingness to work hard and flexibly in a rewarding environment
