CDL Bus Driver

Zephyr Whitewater Expeditions is hiring a CDL Bus Driver for seasonal work from April to early July in Midpines, CA. Responsibilities include driving clients to river access points and shuttling buses. Candidates must have a valid CDL with Passenger Endorsement and be flexible with their schedule. Accommodation options are available. Pay ranges from $19 to $28 per hour plus tips, with benefits including free meals and rafting trips.
Work up to 2 trips per day! Spend the Spring/Early Summer on the beautiful Merced River, just outside Yosemite National Park in California. Position runs from April through end of the season (likely early July this year)

Zephyr Whitewater Expeditions is looking for a fun, adventurous bus driver to work at our family owned/operated rafting operation on the Merced River, just outside Yosemite National Park.
• Must hold a Valid CDL with Passenger Endorsement
• Positions involves pre trip bus/van inspection, driving bus full of clients to the river access point, then shuttling empty bus down to the takeout, then bringing clients back up to our base. Lots of paid time during the trip to sit by the river and read, fish, swim, etc.
• All CDL employees must be entered into a Federal Drug and Alcohol random screen pool and must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Must be willing to work with a flexible schedule, up to 7 days in a week as our trips often book up a day or two in advance.
• Length of season dependent on snowpack, but we start in April and typically expect to run into early/mid July.
• Driving is mostly on a 2 lane mountain highway, with some dirt road driving. Occasionally driving with a flatbed trailer.
• Our fleet includes airport shuttle style vans, a 15 passenger van, and a couple of different Type "C" busses.

Living Accommodations:

Multiple options. If you have an RV or Trailer, we have a property near our main operations where you can park and plug into our electrical hookups. There is a Manufactured Home on site there that you can use for Kitchen/Bathroom/Shower.

There is also an available bedroom inside the Manufactured Home for the duration of the season. Note, the rest of the house is a shared living space.

There is also tent space if you prefer to set up a tent outside.

Pay:

Pay is per trip, but averages out to $19 to $28 per hour, plus tips. Work up to 2 trips a day. Lots of paid down time during the trip by the side of the river. We offer three trips per day, an AM trip, PM trip, and a Full Day trip. 1/2 day trip pay is $91, Full Day is $152, and working both 1/2 day trips pays $182. End of season bonus for staying for our full season brings this pay up $5 to $10 more per trip.
