We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager with deep knowledge of the Philippine electricity market to drive growth and strategic partnerships. You will be pioneering a new application and approach to large corporates and industry participants, to enable innovative value delivery to generators, retailers and project owners. You’ll be comfortable expressing and selling your value proposition to corporate and procurement teams. You will enjoy driving innovation and implementing innovative solutions to known business problems -taking existing worldclass approaches and benefits to the Philippines Electricity Markets. The ideal candidate will have a solid track record including : corporate sales, energy/electricity sales, and stakeholder engagement. If selected, you will be instrumental in expanding the company’s footprint in the wholesale energy sector. You will need to be a fantastic communicator and presenter and problem solver. This role is more than just running power point presentations, its leading our customer’s solution rollout and helping them realize the value you bring to their business.

Key Responsibilities: Market Development & Strategy:
• Identify and develop new business opportunities • Analyze trends, policy changes, and market dynamics in the Philippine energy sector.
• Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to increase market share in wholesale and retail energy.

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with large industrial customers, distribution utilities, electric cooperatives, and government agencies.
• Lead contract negotiations, PPAs, and energy supply agreements.
• Serve as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders in the wholesale market.

Regulatory and Market Engagement
• Represent the company in industry forums, working groups, and policy consultations.

Partnerships & Alliances:
• Forge strategic partnerships with generation companies, traders, and aggregators.
• Evaluate and onboard third-party providers (e.g., demand aggregators, RE developers).

Team Leadership & Collaboration:
• Mentor junior business development staff and work cross-functionally with regulatory, legal, and technical teams.
• Collaborate with trading, risk, and operations teams to ensure smooth deal execution. Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum 7+ years of business development experience, with at least 2 years focused on the Philippine energy industry • Prefer Strong understanding of WESM operations.
• Proven experience with PPAs, retail electricity supply contracts, and wholesale energy transactions.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strategic thinker with a deep network in the energy and utilities space.

Preferred

Experience
• Prior experience with a Generation Company (GenCo), Retail Electricity Supplier (RES), or Energy Trading firm.
• Exposure to renewable energy markets, energy transition policies, and RE100 procurement strategies.
• Experience in energy portfolio optimization and financial modeling of power contracts.
