Assistant Project Manager – Demolition & Environmental Services

Position Summary


We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the successful planning, execution, and completion of demolition and environmental remediation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong construction background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while working closely with project managers, field personnel, subcontractors, and clients.

Responsibilities



Assist Project Managers with planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution of demolition and environmental remediation projects.
Prepare project estimates, subcontractor scopes, purchase orders, and bid packages.
Monitor project costs, budgets, and profitability.
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field crews to ensure projects remain on schedule.
Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, and change orders.
Track project progress and prepare weekly project reports.
Assist with project documentation including RFIs, submittals, permits, and closeout packages.
Attend pre-construction meetings, jobsite meetings, and client meetings.
Support compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental regulations, and company safety policies.
Coordinate with environmental consultants regarding asbestos, lead, mold, PCB, and hazardous material abatement projects.
Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, engineers, and regulatory agencies.
Assist with billing, collections, and project forecasting.
Travel to project sites as required.

Qualifications


Required



Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
2–5 years of project management or field engineering experience in:
Demolition
Environmental remediation
Asbestos abatement
Commercial construction
Heavy civil construction
Strong understanding of construction documents and specifications.
Experience with project scheduling and cost tracking.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Valid driver's license with ability to travel to job sites.

Preferred



Experience with public sector or municipal projects.
Knowledge of asbestos, lead, PCB, and hazardous material regulations.
OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
Experience with project management software such as Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project.
Estimating experience is a plus.
