SOLV Energy seeks an Acceptance HV/MV Testing Technician, Level 3, responsible for testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting in substations and solar facilities. The role is remote but requires significant travel to job sites. Responsibilities include supervising technicians, ensuring safety compliance, and preparing documentation. Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience, relevant certifications, and the ability to travel 75% of the time.

Job Description Summary:

The Acceptance HV/MV Testing Technician Level 3 is responsible for the execution and management of Testing, Commissioning, troubleshooting and repair activities in substations, BESS and PV facilities

This role is remote with heavy travel to varying jobsites required. Specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

Stresses the importance that safety is the most important function, ensuring that all employees follow safe practices while workingAble to perform all essential Testing Technician 1 and 2 job responsibilitiesDirect and supervise acceptance testing and commissioning of equipment in the substation, BESS and PV facilities as directed by managementPerform site acceptance testing and commissioning of equipment in the substation, BESS and PV facilities and perform energized electrical work strictly adhering to company and industry safety standardsEnsure a safe working environment through strict adherence to and enforcement of company and industry safety standardsUnderstand, follow and communicate safety regulations and work proceduresSupervise, provide ongoing training and certify Testing Technician Level I and II employeesPrepare timely and accurate documentation and required reportsComplete a job with the assistance of Technicians and TraineesAssemble, write, and review a complete test report of the work that they performed or supervisedHandle multiple jobs simultaneously, jobs could be mentally demanding and requires limited supervision.Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and teammatesLead and assist in developing technical/safety policy and procedures and be able to write Standard Operating ProceduresComplete other responsibilities as assignedAble to assist in developing technical/safety policy and procedures and able to write Standard Operating Procedures. The jobs should include any component and systems up to and including a small load substation, including relays and meters. Able to successfully complete the startup of any load substation, and parasitic circuits at a generation station. This technician would also be able to troubleshoot regulator and load tap changer controlsAdvanced Relay Test Set with computer controlFamiliar with implementation of engineering studiesPerform load disturbance and other power quality studies using a variety to recording equipmentAble to review a single element relay circuits for adequacy, and troubleshoot simple relay and metering circuitsAble to review a three phase multi-function relays for adequacy, operation, and communicationAble to use the common relay software to communicate with these relays. This would include being able to download/upload settings, maintain/create a relay archive, and manipulate the relay for testingAble to complete commissioning of most relay and metering systems, except specialized generation, multi-function generation and complex line relay systems. This technician should be able to troubleshoot and repair most apparatus and their associated systems. Able to successfully handle most afterhours call outsAble to perform load studies using a variety to recording equipment

$130,000.00 - $156,000.00
