Job Description
FTTDC - Ohio Logistics is hiring a 3rd Shift Forklift Operator in Bowling Green, OH. The role involves operating forklifts to transport materials, loading and unloading trailers, and organizing inventory. Key responsibilities include using RF scanners, verifying shipments, and maintaining safety. Candidates should have strong communication skills and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. This is a full-time position paying $19 an hour, requiring a high school diploma or GED.
Position Overview:
The Tier 1 Forklift Operator is responsible for operating powered industrial equipment to transport materials within the distribution center. This role focuses on safely loading and unloading trailers, as well as accurately placing inventory in designated warehouse locations. Attention to detail is critical when inspecting incoming and outgoing shipments.
Reporting To:
Tier 3 Lead Forklift Operator / Senior Supervisor
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with team members to follow instructions and coordinate daily tasks
Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment
Move, stack, and organize inventory in assigned storage areas
Pick and build mixed pallets as needed
Use RF scanners and warehouse systems to track inventory
Verify shipment accuracy by reviewing packing lists and documentation
Inspect loads for damage or discrepancies
Assist with occasional manual picking duties
Stay alert to safety risks and maintain a hazard-free workspace
Perform routine forklift inspections and basic maintenance checks
Wrap, band, and prepare pallets for shipment
Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Support inventory counts and audit activities when necessary
Complete additional duties as assigned
Skills amp; Qualifications:
Ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Basic math and counting abilities
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
Comfortable in a fast-paced warehouse setting
Experience using RF scanning equipment preferred
High School Diploma or GED required
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally
Capable of standing for extended periods
May require bending, kneeling, crouching, or climbing
Work Environment:
Warehouse setting with moderate to high noise levels
Frequently working near machinery and other employees
Indoor and occasional outdoor tasks
Exposure to varying temperatures depending on weather conditions
Some manual labor required
