Role Description:


The firmwide sustainability team focuses on sustainability efforts including the education of staff, reporting on sustainability metrics, the development of sustainability resources, direct support of projects to integrate sustainable design, greening the firm’s operations, and creating a case for sustainability for all of Perkins Eastman’s clients.


Sustainability Firmwide Work:



Develop and present educational materials around a wide range of sustainability topics
Serve as a resource for the firm around a variety of sustainability topics
Work to improve the sustainability of Perkins Eastman’s own operations
Assist with firmwide reporting of sustainability metrics
Participate in sub-committees as needed related to specific sustainability initiatives
Stay up to date with current trends and industry research related to sustainability

Sustainability Project Work:



Assist with sustainability focused project work including third party certification documentation and performance analysis for projects of a variety of types and sizes
Advance high performance design strategies and systems integration in support of sustainable design certifications.
Produce effective visualizations and illustrations of projects for use in presentations
Assist with conducting research centered around how building performance impacts occupants.

Basic qualifications:



Bachelor or master’s degree in Sustainability, Architecture, interior design, Urban Planning, or another built environment or ESG related field.
0 to 3 years of experience in the sustainability field recommended.

Additional Qualifications and Skills:



Passion for sustainability and green building.
Knowledge of sustainable design strategies, material selection, and technologies required
Concentration on sustainability during undergrad or graduate program highly recommended.
Ability to work independently and on multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent graphic presentation skills, and the ability to present in front of groups.
Intellectual curiosity, eagerness to engage with others, and willingness to contribute to a healthy, vital workplace culture.
Experience with the LEED rating system is preferred.
Experience with performance analysis software such as Sefaira, Insight 360, and Ladybug/Honeybee for Rhino is preferred.

Certificates and Licenses:



Certification as a licensed professional
LEED, EDAC or WELL accreditation required.
