Balfour Beatty plc is hiring a Sustainability Project Manager to lead sustainability initiatives, develop project plans, and coordinate cross-functional collaboration. The role involves tracking financial and operational impacts and reporting to executive leadership. While ideally based in Dallas or Atlanta, remote candidates will be considered. Applicants should have a degree in business or related fields and at least 5 years of project management experience, preferably in construction or infrastructure.

Ideally, this individual will report to either our Dallas or Atlanta office, but we will consider someone who is remote.The Sustainability Project Manager drives the successful execution of sustainability initiatives by developing detailed project plans, coordinating cross‑functional collaboration, and influencing business alignment with strategic priorities. This individual ensures timely progress reporting to executive leadership while tracking financial and operational impacts using technology‑enabled project management tools.Essential Functions Support sustainability 3rd party organizations, selected by UK and US senior leadership (50%)Provide operational support for sustainability initiatives as directed by UK Group Sustainability and the SVP of Safety and Sustainability. Responsibilities include:Coordinating meetings and facilitating communication across departmentsIdentifying and engaging internal subject matter expertsGathering and organizing relevant data, including financial metrics, operational standards, and companyCompiling and analyzing data for completeness and accuracy for quarterly reporting to the UKProviding external audit requests during interim and year‑end auditsAssisting in the evaluation and prioritization of sustainability initiatives based on strategic goals and impactProject manager manages the carbon analysis to including gathering information, writing report and other forensics for Civils initially and then Buildings.Vendors include but not limited to: GuidehouseProject Management (50%)Lead the development and execution of detailed project plans for key sustainability initiatives. Responsibilities include:Creating comprehensive project plans with defined milestones, deliverables, and executive‑level presentationsProviding regular progress updates to the executive team and UK Global leadershipTracking and reporting financial and operational impacts of initiativesLeveraging project management tools and technology to monitor timelines, resourcesPerform all other duties as assigned. Education/CertificationEarned degree in business administration to include general business, project management, finance, fixed asset accounting, and construction management.5 years in project managementPreferred RequirementsProven experience in onsite project management within the construction or infrastructure industry, ideally with a demonstrated interest in forensic assessment of economic sustainability and energy efficiency initiativesStrong project management capabilities, including the ability to lead complex projects under tight deadlines while maintaining schedule and deliverable integrityPractical, hands‑on understanding of Balfour Beatty US Construction and Infrastructure operations at the project levelSoft SkillsSelf‑motivated and disciplined individual contributor with a strong sense of ownershipSkilled at synthesizing large volumes of data into concise, executive‑level summariesCollaborative mindset with the ability to drive change through partnership and shared goalsSolution‑oriented approach to problem‑solving and decision‑makingWork ConditionsOffice work and field work on job sites to include construction and infrastructure worksite.
