Job Description

Parsons is seeking a skilled Sustainability and Environment Specialist – Waste Management to support the delivery of complex infrastructure, public realm, and masterplan projects. The role focuses on developing waste management strategies that support sustainability goals, environmental compliance, and high-quality project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities Work with multidisciplinary project teams where waste management is required as a standalone service or as part of sustainability certification and environmental compliance. Provide technical guidance during planning, design, tendering, and construction supervision stages. Develop customised waste reduction and sustainability strategies for clients. Propose innovative solutions to reduce waste and improve resource recovery. Assess client waste management processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements in recycling, waste minimisation, and compliance. Support projects across the UAE, KSA, and wider EMEA region in line with applicable environmental regulations. Prepare technical reports, studies, and project deliverables related to waste management. Prepare permit and licence applications and coordinate with authorities for approvals. Analyse waste generation data to identify gaps and improvement opportunities. Develop community operational solid waste management plans for sustainability certification documentation. Review consultant, supplier, and contractor deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance. Help organisations reduce environmental impact and achieve sustainability targets. Required Skills Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture, Engineering, Planning, Natural Sciences, or a related field. 3–5 years of experience in international engineering design, project management, or sustainability consultancy. Strong knowledge of waste management practices, recycling technologies, and sustainability principles. Ability to provide practical expert advice and waste management solutions. Detail‑oriented, organised, and capable of managing multiple projects independently and within teams. Excellent written and spoken English with strong report‑writing and document preparation skills. Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability. Awareness of current waste management regulations, environmental laws, and industry standards. Desired Skills Degree in Environmental Management, Circular Economy, Architecture, Engineering, Planning, Natural Sciences, or a related discipline. Experience coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, designers, and construction teams to meet sustainability objectives. Strong understanding of global waste management consultancy practices and bespoke advisory delivery. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools. #J-18808-Ljbffr
