Job Description

Company Name is seeking a Senior EV Technician in Abu Dhabi, UAE, to join their aftersales team. The role involves diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing Chinese electric vehicles, focusing on high-voltage systems and battery management. Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience with Chinese EVs, a relevant automotive qualification, and proficiency in diagnostic software. This hands-on position requires strict adherence to safety protocols and compliance with UAE regulations.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior EV Technician to join a growing aftersales team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will bring demonstrated expertise in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing Chinese electric vehicles, with a thorough understanding of high-voltage systems, battery management, and the proprietary architectures used by leading Chinese EV manufacturers. This is a senior-level, hands-on technical role offering the opportunity to work with next-generation electric vehicle technology in one of the world's most dynamic automotive markets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Perform advanced diagnostics on Chinese EV platforms using brand-specific diagnostic software (e.g., ADAS calibration tools, BMS diagnostic suites)


Diagnose and repair high-voltage battery systems, electric drive motors, inverters, and onboard charging units


Troubleshoot and resolve faults in thermal management, regenerative braking, and energy recuperation systems


Interpret technical data from vehicle control units (VCU, BMS, MCU) and execute targeted repair procedures


Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance in line with manufacturer specifications and service intervals


Perform high-voltage battery health checks, cell balancing assessments, and capacity testing


Execute software updates, firmware flashes, and ECU reprogramming as required


Service and maintain AC/DC charging infrastructure and on-vehicle charging systems


Strictly follow high-voltage safety protocols at all times, including proper PPE usage and HV isolation procedures


Comply with UAE regulatory standards, RTA vehicle inspection requirements, and OEM technical guidelines


Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment in accordance with facility safety standards


Accurately document all repair orders, diagnostic findings, parts usage, and labour times in the DMS


Prepare warranty claim documentation in line with manufacturer requirements


Maintain detailed vehicle service histories and contribute to technical knowledge-base updates


Provide technical mentorship and on-the-job guidance to junior and mid-level technicians


Participate in OEM technical training programmes and manufacturer-led workshops


Collaborate with the Parts department on technical parts identification and sourcing



QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE


3 to 5 years of hands-on experience specifically with Chinese EV brands


Experience within the UAE or wider GCC automotive industry


Recognised automotive technical qualification — Diploma or Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering


OEM-certified or factory-trained technician status from a Chinese EV manufacturer


Proven proficiency with high-voltage EV systems


Strong working knowledge of Chinese-language diagnostic software platforms and OEM portals


Valid UAE driving licence
