Senior Climate Campaign Leader, Environment America

Are you passionate about combating climate change and ready to take the lead in driving impactful campaigns? Environment America is looking for an experienced Senior Climate Campaign Leader to head our Global Warming Solutions Team. This critical role involves collaborating with a dedicated national program team, local organizers, and vital allies nationwide to inspire action, build public support, and secure policies for a fossil fuel-free future, as well as promoting electrification in buildings, carbon-free transportation, and pollution reduction from power plants.

The Senior Climate Campaign Leader will be the face of Environment America's climate initiatives, engaging directly with decision-makers, the media, coalition partners, and funders.

Key Responsibilities:

Coalition Building: Act as Environment America's representative in significant climate coalitions, expanding partnerships to include diverse supporters across the political landscape. Work with state organizations on tailored coalition strategies.Media and Communications: Create compelling reports, fact sheets, news releases, blogs, op-eds, and other materials to amplify our message. Serve as the national spokesperson, effectively communicating with the media and a variety of audiences.Campaign Coordination and Development: Lead the development and execution of strategic campaign plans, collaborating with senior leadership to align strategies and seize opportunities.Research: Transform complex data into clear, impactful messages that resonate with decision-makers and the public.Fundraising: Enhance our climate program by securing funding from both foundations and individual donors. Cultivate existing relationships while expanding our donor base with national, state, and local funding sources.Recruitment and Management: Play an active role in recruiting and managing staff and interns. Collaborate with leadership to design and conduct training programs for all staff levels.Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leadership within citizen-based organizations or the climate sector, and should possess:

A strong belief in the impact of grassroots organizing and an understanding of how to maximize its effectiveness.A results-driven mentality paired with exceptional public speaking, writing, and analytical skills, demonstrating enthusiasm for climate advocacy.A successful track record in fundraising from diverse sources, including large and small donations and foundations.Experience and comfort engaging with media, capable of advocating effectively in challenging situations.Compensation and Benefits:

Starting salary for this position, based on 5-12 years of relevant experience, ranges from $42,000 to $60,000. Those with lesser directly relevant experience will be on the lower end, whereas candidates with extensive experience will be on the higher end of this range. Location:

The preferred location for this position is Washington, D.C., but it can also be based in Chicago, IL, Boston, MA, or Denver, CO.
