Senior Associate – Project Finance/Projects (Energy Transition, Infrastructure) - Sydney We are seeking a skilled legal professional to join our team in Sydney. About the role: We’re looking for a senior lawyer with a willingness to blend or develop your project finance/infrastructure projects skill with Australia’s energy transition future. We have a position available where you will be exposed to leading transactions across Australia – from greenfields transactions like the new renewable energy zones, traditional PPP assets and infrastructure assets, through to the financing and development of Australia’s airports, tollroads and natural resources. We also advise on transactions across the infrastructure/energy transition space, including buy/sell M&A style transactions. The team you will be joining is already busy on projects like the creation of NSW renewable energy zones, renewable energy projects in the Northern Territory, transport and logistics infrastructure, high profile health sector roles and the buy and sell market for a diverse range of existing assets. Your partners have a project finance and projects background and so you will also be able to diversify your skills. In this role you will be supervised by Rebecca Finkelstein who works across the broad range of transactions discussed above. You will also work closely with Mark Upfold who is our Australian sector leader for infrastructure. You will have: • previous experience at senior associate level in an Australian or overseas law firm - preferably large top end Australian or overseas law firm. We will also consider experienced lawyers for a lawyer role • expertise in drafting and negotiating project finance agreements, loan documents, and security arrangements • interest in the commercial rationale for transactions – “why” our client is doing something often drives “how” we help them do it • excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide strategic advice and navigate complex legal issues. • strong project management capabilities, ensuring timely delivery of legal services and managing multiple client engagements simultaneously. • outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and collaborate effectively within a team. • commitment to upholding the highest ethical and professional standards in legal practice.
