Recycling Operative/Shop Assistant

ALS People is hiring a Recycling Operative/Shop Assistant for their client's site in Dunstable, UK. The position is temporary with a pay rate starting at £11.90 per hour, including weekend shifts.
ALS People are currently recruiting for the role of Recycling Operative/Shop Assistant to work at our client's site based in Leighton Buzzard, Ampthill and Thorn Turn (Houghton Regis).
The successful candidate will be hard working, reliable and willing to work outdoors.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure the safe operation and condition of premises, plant, and equipment at all times in accordance with health and safety.
• Provide support, advice, and assistance to members of the public.
• General labour, including loading, unloading, and handling items from facility user's vehicles as required.
• Ensure the premises and equipment are maintained and kept in a clean and serviceable condition.
• Processing customer payments at the checkout point/till
• Addressing customer complaints and inquiries
• Providing shopping advice and recommendations to customers
• Cleaning and rearranging the store
• Performing periodic price audits to resolve price discrepancies
• Collaborating with other team members to keep the sales floor area clean and organised at all times

Requirements:
• A good level of English communication
• Must be comfortable working in a partly exposed area in all weather conditions: PPE provided.
• Must be able to work well as part of a team.
• Experience required in charity/reuse shop.

Shifts pattern: based on a rolling rota, including weekends

Hours: 7.5hrs per day: 0900-1700, 30 minutes unpaid break
Pay rates: £11.90, Saturday £14.88, Sunday £17.88
