Job Description

Sigma Earth is seeking a Senior Associate for Sustainability in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role involves supporting sustainability priorities, managing budgets, and enhancing ESG performance for QNB Group. Responsibilities include coordinating sustainability initiatives, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and ensuring compliance with ESG regulations. The position also requires conducting research on sustainability best practices and promoting QNB's sustainability agenda while adhering to legal and regulatory requirements.
Position: QNB3352 – Senior Associate – Sustainability (Qatarization) Main Responsibilities: Shareholder & Financial:Support the development of annual sustainability priorities , strategic agenda, and the ESG strategic portfolio .Contribute to the Sustainability team as part of the group-wide hub/center of excellence to enhance sustainability and improve external ESG performance for QNB Group .Assist in creating annual sustainability-related Business Plans , including conducting research and benchmarking .Monitor and manage the sustainability budget, spending, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effectiveness.Implement KPIs and best practices for the role of Senior Associate, Sustainability .Promote cost efficiency and productivity , minimizing waste and optimizing benefits for the bank.Act within the delegated authority limits .Customer (Internal & External):Support the Sustainability team in delivering QNB Group’s agenda and managing project-related tasks.Serve as a point of contact for sustainability initiatives within QNB Group .Act as a coordinator and quality reviewer for ESG communications, reporting, and disclosures to enhance external ESG performance.Represent QNB Group as an ambassador for sustainability and the enhancement of ESG performance.Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and selected external partners (e.g., consultants, service providers).Assist in the delivery and publication of the group-wide annual ESG report and ensure alignment of ESG reports across subsidiaries.Participate in individual projects and deliverables to support sustainability objectives.Foster relationships with Head Office divisions, international networks, and subsidiaries to facilitate the effective delivery of the group-wide sustainability agenda .Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):Support developments in QNB’s Sustainability Policy , related frameworks , and standards in sustainable finance and operations.Participate in the process of coordinating, tracking, and analyzing sustainability data to meet international reporting standards.Contribute to identifying and developing material ESG topics for the bank.Maintain awareness and support compliance with ESG-related regulatory requirements across jurisdictions.Learning & Knowledge:Promote QNB Group’s Sustainability approach and ESG performance , participating in training on ESG-related topics .Assist in the onboarding of junior team members and support SVP/VP in identifying professional development needs.Conduct research on industry best practices, trends, and peer benchmarking to stay updated on market developments.Build expertise in banking processes, regulations, and industry operating practices .Research and benchmark sustainability initiatives, techniques, tools, methodologies, and best practices .Complete all mandatory training and seminars to maintain required competence levels.Legal, Regulatory, and Risk Framework Responsibilities:Adhere to all legal, regulatory , and internal compliance requirements , including Group Compliance Policies (e.g., AML & CTF, Sanctions Policy, Data Protection, Fraud Control, Whistle Blowing, Conflict of Interest, Insider Dealing ).Understand and perform your role according to the Three Lines of Defence principle to identify, measure, monitor, manage, and report risks .Ensure positive outcomes for clients in line with Conduct Risk policies .Support frameworks for RCSA, KRI, Incident Reporting, and remediation in compliance with Operational Risk Management requirements.Maintain the necessary knowledge and qualifications to perform the role effectively.Attend all mandatory training sessions and seminars as directed by the bank.Other Responsibilities:Ensure data protection and confidentiality of sensitive business information.Maintain strict confidentiality of customer and internal bank information, sharing it only with Senior Management, Audit, Compliance, and Regulators as required.Uphold professional standards to maintain QNB’s reputation and strengthen its market leadership.Perform additional ad hoc duties as required by management.Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university , preferably in Business Administration, Science, Sustainability Studies , or Finance .Minimum of 2 years of experience for Qatari graduates .Strong awareness, interest, or knowledge of Sustainability topics, trends, practices, and principles .Proven ability to work effectively in a team , demonstrated through work experience, university projects, or assignments .Demonstrated ability to deliver tasks and objectives effectively.#J-18808-Ljbffr
