OverviewBoreal Environmental Services seeks an environmental engineer or scientist to support our regulatory permitting and compliance team. This position is full time, requires 3-10 years of relevant experience, and has an array of responsibilities requiring flexibility and versatile skills.

ResponsibilitiesWork collaboratively with our team of engineers and scientists assisting our clients in complying with Alaska environmental regulations, particularly in the project permitting, air quality, water, wastewater, and spill prevention disciplines.Collect data for new or existing facilities, develop spreadsheets to analyze data, draft permit applications or compliance reports, and support regulatory filings.Use engineering or scientific skills to provide a technical understanding and interpretation of project framework, approach, and solution.Comply with Boreal and client health, safety, and environmental requirements including our drug and alcohol policies.Travel on occasional field trips to client facilities, or other work locations.Adhere to contracted scopes of work, schedules, and budgets.Support other Boreal project functions as needed.Technical Skills and ExperienceBachelor of Science Degree in engineering, atmospheric science, environmental science, chemistry, or equivalent.3-10 years of progressive experience in Alaska permitting, air quality, water, wastewater, or spill prevention permitting, compliance monitoring, recordkeeping, and/or reporting.Ability to work independently or collaboratively on a team.Excellent skills in customer service, critical thinking, problem solving, verbal and written communication, technical writing, quantitative analysis, organization, and efficiency.Coachable, team player, self-starter, detail-oriented, patient.GIS or AutoCAD experience is a plus.This position is subject to pre-employment background and drug and alcohol screening.CompensationSalary range for this position is $70,000 - $115,000, based on experience, education, and other job-related factors.How to applyTo apply, email letter of interest and resume to info@boreal-services.com.
