Job Description
Connexus Energy is seeking a Journey Lineworker in Anoka, MN. The role involves constructing and maintaining overhead and underground electrical distribution systems safely and reliably. Candidates need a high school diploma, Journey Lineworker certification, and a valid Class A CDL. The position offers a wage of $62.22 per hour and potential bonuses. Work hours may vary, requiring on-call availability for emergencies. This is not a remote position.
Connexus Energy has an exciting opportunity for a Journey Lineworker. As a Lineworker, you will gain knowledge and experience in all aspects of safe construction and maintenance of our electrical distribution system. Additionally, you will construct and maintain the overhead and underground electrical distribution lines in a safe, reliable, and timely manner that will provide customers with safe, reliable service.
Compensation:
The hiring wage for this union position is $62.22 per hour in accordance with the union contract. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus with a target payout of 5% of annual earnings based on company performance.
In this position, you will:
Construct and maintain our overhead and underground electrical distribution system within the appropriate specifications, guidelines, and standards so that reliable service is provided in a safe and timely manner to our members.Construct overhead lines including framing, setting poles, stringing conductor, hanging materials and electrical devices according to all specificationsInstall primary and secondary underground electrical distribution system within the appropriate specifications, guidelines and standards Plow and trench cableMaintain the electrical distribution system to ensure its safety and reliability while minimizing any disruption of serviceRepair broken equipment such as poles and conductorsPerform general troubleshootingPerform appropriate repairsRestore power in a safe and timely mannerAnalyze situation that led to the power outageNeed to have:
High School or GED diploma AND Electrical Lineworker diplomaCompletion of a four-year Apprenticeship program and Journey Lineworker certificationCurrent and valid Class A CDL Driver’s License with a good driving recordCurrent and valid health card Certified First Aid and CPR training Trained/able to perform bucket and pole top rescueCertified in pole climbing for construction and maintenanceAbility to operate various equipment such as boom, digger derrick trucks and heavy equipmentMechanical aptitude to work with machines and equipmentAbility to read and understand written work documents such as charts, diagrams, schematics and staking sheets Ability to meet the physical standards of the job: Lift & carry up to 75 lbs.; Push/pull up to 150 lbs.; climb & work at heights that may exceed 60 feetCommitment to customer service and ability to present a positive Connexus Energy imageOther information:
Successful candidates will be required to meet the following conditions:
Normal work hours will occur anywhere between 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. with emergency or scheduled work on weekends, holidays or any time of the dayLive within a 30-minute response time to Connexus Energy headquartersBecome qualified for on-call rotation to handle emergencies that may occur at all hours of the day or night
