Job Description

The Rwanda Forestry Authority is seeking a Forest Management Program Leader in Kigali, Rwanda. The role involves conducting research and analyses in forestry and agroforestry, leading research activities, developing methodologies, producing technical reports, and mentoring staff. The leader will collaborate with stakeholders and promote best practices. Candidates should have 36 months of experience and an associate degree. This is a full-time position.
JOB DETAILS: 1. Conduct forest and agroforestry research and analyses for ENR technical, social, economic, environmental, institutional, and technology related information, data and statistics and/or related policy issues to support the delivery of forestry and agroforestry products and services. 2. Leads planning, execution and monitoring of forestry, agroforestry and biodiversity research activities 3. The program leader will responsible for developing and managing a result oriented research projects 4. Develop research methodologies and approaches: the program leader will develop and guide in research methodologies to be employed in research activities, ensuring that research concepts and methods are appropriate and meet the highest scientific standards and reflect up-to-date scientific methods and concepts. 5. Supports production of technical information, data, statistics, reports, policy briefs and peer reviewed scientific paper and promotes knowledge sharing and best practices at national and international meetings and conferences. 6. Leads and supervises capacity building initiatives including students, staffs and mentor junior scientists 7. Collaborates in the development of improved/updated tools, systems, processes and databases in forestry sector. 8. Participates in multidisciplinary teams, and/or leads working groups/teams collaborates with other units on work groups and promotes best practices and team working. 9. Develop/Maintain constructive partnerships with stakeholders and supports resource mobilization activities for forestry and agroforestry research activities.
