Fire Safety Specialist

IntrepidGS is seeking a Fire Safety Specialist in Rose Hill, VA. As the Fire Safety Specialist, you will perform and coordinate the maintenance and installation of building fire alarm systems, assists others with electronic premises security systems, and the alarm monitoring station for the site. Leads, trains, and coordinates the day-to-day work of locally employed Foreign National technical staff and/or subcontractors. Prepares estimates and customer proposals, and interfaces with clients to ensure customer satisfaction. Performs associated administrative duties.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Consults with customers regarding system needs; prepares cost estimates and customer proposals; prepares material requests and reports.
• Coordinates, trains, leads and oversees activities locally employed staff that may be assigned to assist with daily activities.
• Installs and maintains fire, security, alarm, and special systems.
• Programs and maintains equipment and systems including fire alarm, environmental detection, holdup/duress, integrated systems and equipment related to the alarm monitoring station.
• Maintains records of work performed utilizing Maximo software for work orders and preventative maintenance.
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Certification/Licensure: Electrical License and fire alarm certifications, with Honeywell / Notifier experience and training preferred.
• Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
