Job Description
Tetra Tech Inc is seeking an Entry-Level Field Assistant in North Las Vegas, NV, to support environmental field studies and monitoring for energy projects. The role involves data collection, operating equipment, and working outdoors in varying conditions. Candidates should have 1-2 years of relevant experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work independently in remote locations. This position is field-based and offers growth opportunities within a team environment.
The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is adding an Entry-Level Field Assistant with 1-2 years of relevant experience to support environmental field studies and monitoring within our Energy Practice across Nevada. Our work includes routing, siting, and permitting for wind, solar, transmission, pipelines, battery storage, and other infrastructure projects.
This position is as-needed and offers hands-on experience in environmental fieldwork, monitoring, and data collection, with opportunities for continued growth within a collaborative team environment.

Essential Job Functions:
Assist with environmental field studies and monitoring activitiesCollect and record data using standardized data sheets and/or electronic systemsSupport a variety of research and monitoring projectsOperate and maintain field and monitoring equipmentWork outdoors in remote locations and varying weather conditionsSupport supervisors and field crews as neededFollow all health and safety procedures, including proper use of PPEWork independently for extended periods, including long field daysConduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.Additional duties as required.Required Qualifications:
1-2 years of relevant field or environmental experienceAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsAbility to read and interpret basic drawings and diagramsAbility to operate vehicles and equipment in rugged terrainStrong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate recordsAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamWillingness to work in remote, rural environmentsAbility to operate 4x4 vehicles on unpaved roadsComfortable working in harsh weather conditions (heat, wind, precipitation)Ability to use GPS units, cameras, and tabletsFlexibility in scheduling based on project needsWillingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic field environmentMust possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.Preferred Qualifications:
Coursework or degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or related fieldPrior experience with field data collection or environmental monitoringPhysical Requirements:
Ability to:
Walk on uneven terrain for extended periods
Lift and carry heavy objects
Maintain balance and agility in field conditions
Ability to work outdoors in variable and inclement weather
Ability to wear and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE)

Compensation:
Pay commensurate with experience.
Pay Range: $27.00 - $32.00 hourly
Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience and demonstrated work experience in the above role; skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role; geographic location; and education, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
