POSITION OVERVIEW Environmental Specialist Location: Not specified Salary: $48,000 – $98,000 annually ABOUT THIS ROLE You will support DoD environmental programs with program management, policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and data analysis. You will support meetings, develop client-ready materials, track performance measures, and help move priorities tied to environmental compliance and remediation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide daily on-site program management support for DoD environmental programs Support meetings and conferences, agendas, talking points, materials, presentations, summaries Collect, compile, analyze, and manage datasets to track program progress Research environmental issues and deliver concise conclusions in reports and presentations Support development of policies, guidance, and planning documents Research and analyze laws, regulations, and policies Draft policies and guidance and adjudicate comments Create outreach materials, fact sheets, graphics, websites, and social media content Track progress against performance measures and legislation and present in client-ready format REQUIRED SKILLS Environmental program or policy support, research, data analysis, writing, logistics Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, policies, or science Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental policy, public policy, or public administration 1+ years of experience in one or more areas: hazardous substances, natural resources, clean water, safe drinking water, hazardous waste, environmental planning PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with DoD or other federal agencies, NGOs, or state agencies Knowledge of DoD structure and missions Strong PowerPoint and graphics software skills Strong client interaction skills, virtual and in-person Strong time management and communication skills CLEARANCE Secret clearance required Subject to security investigation
