Sizewell C Limited is hiring an Environmental Specialist for a full-time position based in London with hybrid work and travel to Suffolk. The role involves ensuring environmental compliance and sustainability in the construction of the Sizewell C nuclear power plant. Candidates should have a degree in Environmental Science or related fields, experience in environmental management, and strong communication skills. Employment Type: Full Time Employment Period: Salary: 0.00 Location: London, GB, EC2R 7BP Bristol, GB, BS32 4TP Felixstowe, GB, IP10 0DD Leiston, GB, IP16 4UR Career Area: Health, Safety & Security Environmental Specialist Sizewell C’s business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk. Overall, whilst the Company is in the construction phase, the Boards’ principal focus is on the development and construction of Sizewell C on time, on budget and to the highest quality and safety standards. The Company is maturing to meet all these requirements.


Sizewell C is economically regulated by OFGEM under the RAB model similar to other UK electricity distribution networks and Thames Tideway.


Sizewell C construction strategy is to replicate the design of Hinkley Point C, using the majority of the same supply chain, but innovating in the way it is delivered to achieve savings in time and cost of around 20%. The CCO will need to be guided by and incorporate lessons learned from the Hinkley Point C commercial delivery to achieve Sizewell C’s ambition.


Following Financial Completion and Revenue Commencement, Sizewell C is fully funded and is owned by; The Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero representing HM Government, La Caisse, Centrica, EDF and Amber Infrastructure.

Environmental Specialist Location: Based in London on a hybrid basis with travel to Suffolk as required. Contract : Permanent, full-time. Salary: Competitive dependant on experience, plus benefits Benefits include:



Annual Leave: 28 days per annum, increasing to 30 days after 5 years of service, plus bank holidays.
Bonus: 5% annual bonus.
Pension Contributions: Defined Contribution Pension Scheme with up to 7.5% employee contribution 15% employer contribution.

About the Role



We are seeking a highly motivated Environmental Specialist to join the Sizewell C project team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the UK’s most significant low-carbon energy infrastructure projects. You will play a key role in ensuring environmental compliance, sustainability, and best practice across civils program construction phase.



About You



Degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
Proven experience in environmental management within construction, infrastructure, or energy projects
Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks
Experience with Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and environmental permitting
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Principal Accountabilities, Activities and Decisions




Provide Client interface management support
Provide oversight to TOC Assurance & Contractual Incentives
Ensuring all Environment and Sustainability Commitments and Requirements from the Sizewell C Client are embedded in CWA Arrangements
Undertake coordination of assurance activities
Ensuring the Alliance is fulfilling its Level 1 (Self Checking) Assurance of its work in line with their Environmental and Sustainability Arrangements.
Supporting the link with Sizewell C PC Environment Function in conducting its proportionate and risk informed assurance of the Civils Works Alliance Work, this includes supporting inspections and investigations into incidents, near-misses or areas of noncompliance.
Ensure that any learning report actions or feedback as part of its Assurance Programmes of the Civils Works Alliance are adequately addressed in a timely manner.
Providing advice and guidance to the Civil Work Programme and Civils Works Alliance on Sizewell C’s Environmental and Sustainability obligations, pulling support of the wider Sizewell C Client Organisation as required.
