Job Title: Environmental Scientist
Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting environmental investigations, remediation efforts, and monitoring activities. This role involves both field and office work, offering a diverse range of tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Conduct soil boring logging, and soil, groundwater, and soil vapor sampling.Oversee drilling and contractor operations, perform air monitoring, and prepare daily reports.Analyze chemical data, prepare investigation reports, and assist in creating work and safety plans.Provide field support for environmental investigations at parks and Brownfield Cleanup sites.Conduct routine monitoring at former landfill sites, including well gauging and groundwater sampling.Manage on-site stockpile operations and oversee import/export of materials.Prepare manifests and daily reports for various projects.Collaborate on designing a large remedy at a former Manufactured Gas Plant site, with a project duration of 18-24 months.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Geoscience, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental science and site assessment.Proficiency in soil classification and chemical analysis sampling.Strong communication and report writing skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in the field.Flexibility in schedule and reliable transportation.Additional Skills & Qualifications40-hour OSHA Hazwoper certification.OSHA 30-hour and SST certifications.Knowledge in environmental remediation and water sampling techniques.Work EnvironmentThe position offers a hybrid work schedule, with a mix of office and field work. Some weeks may involve full-time office work, while others may require 2-4 weeks of field work. There is flexibility to work some office days from home. The role involves travel to project sites across the five boroughs, with mileage reimbursement provided. Candidates should be prepared to start work early and stay late to manage equipment and complete daily reports. This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
