A leading waste management company is looking for an Environmental Manager to join their team and support multiple facilities across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region. This is a highly visible leadership role for an environmental professional who enjoys partnering with operations, managing regulatory compliance programs, and driving environmental excellence across multiple sites.




Reporting to the Director of Environmental Compliance, this role will be responsible for a small EHS team and several key sites in the region. There is 25% to 50% travel required, and candidates can be based at sites in Norwich, CT, or Shrewsbury, MA, or work in a hybrid capacity within New England.




The Role:

Lead environmental compliance programs across multiple facilities, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulationsConduct site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews while overseeing permit requirements and environmental reportingManage environmental training initiatives, including onboarding and ongoing employee developmentSupport air, water, emissions, and waste compliance programs, including monitoring and reporting activitiesServe as a key contact for regulatory agencies, inspections, and compliance-related communicationsLead environmental incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plansPartner with plant leadership to identify compliance risks, drive continuous improvement, and strengthen environmental performanceMaintain compliance records, reporting systems, and environmental management processes across assigned locations


What We're Looking For:

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, EHS, or a related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of environmental compliance experience, preferably in an industrial, utilities, manufacturing, energy, or waste environmentStrong knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting, inspections, and compliance reportingExperience working with regulatory agencies and managing multi-site compliance programsStrong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skillsComfortable working independently while supporting multiple facilities and operational teamsProficiency with Microsoft Office and environmental compliance reporting systems
