Job Description

CONAGRA is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist for its Council Bluffs, IA facility. The role involves supporting safety and environmental programs, managing projects, training, and compliance, while collaborating with various teams to enhance safety culture. Candidates should have a relevant degree and 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing setting. The position requires physical presence in the manufacturing environment.
Reporting to the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager at our Council Bluffs, Iowa manufacturing facility, local producers of Marie Callendar, Healthy Choice, Birds Eye and more. you will support the plant’s Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability programs by integrating safety and environmental practices into daily operations. You will manage plant-level projects, training, and compliance programs while partnering with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams to promote a strong safety culture and regulatory compliance.A Taste of Your ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with team members and subject matter experts to design and implement plant-specific environment, health, and safety programsSupport project planning and execution for environment, health, and safety initiatives, ensuring alignment with plant goalsAssist with the development and rollout of standardized safety programs tailored to plant operationsCoordinate internal environment, health, and safety audits, including scheduling, reporting, and tracking corrective actions to completionSupport emergency preparedness programs, including evacuation drills and severe weather response plansDevelop and deliver environment, health, and safety training for plant personnelMaintain and report safety and environmental performance metrics on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis to plant leadershipServe as a resource for continuous improvement in safety culture and regulatory complianceIngredients Required for Your SuccessBachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field2 to 4 years of experience in project management or environment, health, and safety roles within a manufacturing or industrial settingExperience presenting training materials and reporting to leadershipFamiliarity with Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, and other relevant regulatory standardsPhysical RequirementsMore information about essential tasks and the facility will be shared during the hiring process. This role may require you to be in our manufacturing facilities. When visiting these sites, the physical requirements below may apply:
You may be required to walk around the facility, climb stairs/ladders, kneel, or perform repetitive tasks that require hand-eye coordination.
You may be required to lift or carry materials that can vary in weight and size.
This is a manufacturing environment with large, moving equipment. Noise levels can be high, and temperatures may vary.#LI-Onsite

Compensation

Pay Range:$64,000-$95,000

The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
