Job Description

Pearce Services is hiring an Entry Level Solar Field Service Technician for utility-scale solar farms in Atlanta, GA. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining ground-mount solar systems and inverters, requiring 1+ years of utility-scale experience. This is a hands-on position with 100% travel to various solar sites. The technician must enforce safety standards and support junior technicians while working outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
Your Impact

As an Entry Level Solar Field Service Technician (Utility-Scale / PV Repair), you'll work on large, utility-scale solar farms-not residential or rooftop systems. You'll handle troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of ground-mount solar systems, central/string inverters, and power plant equipment. You're responsible for making sure work is done safely, correctly, and on schedule. This is a hands-on role for someone with real experience on utility-scale solar sites (megawatt-scale projects).

This is a 100% travel position.

Core Responsibilities
• Troubleshoot and repair utility-scale solar systems, including inverters, combiner boxes, and string circuits
• Perform testing: LOTO, IV curve tracing, megger/insulation testing, IR scans
• Assign work, track progress, and keep jobs on schedule
• Perform operations and maintenance (O&M) on utility-scale solar plants
• Inspect completed work and ensure it meets quality and safety standards
• Enforce safety requirements (OSHA, NFPA 70E) on-site
• Diagnose system issues and resolve them in the field
• Complete work orders, service logs, and required documentation
• Operate and maintain company vehicle and tools
• Train and support junior technicians in the field

Core Experience (Utility-Scale Required)
• 1+ years of utility-scale solar experience (solar farms / ground-mount systems)
• Experience leading crews or acting as lead tech on-site
• Experience working on megawatt-scale PV systems (NOT residential rooftop solar)
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair skills (inverters, DC systems, power electronics)
• Experience with solar O&M / maintenance work
• Working knowledge of OSHA / NFPA 70E safety standards
• Experience using multimeters, meggers, amp clamps, and testing equipment
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

Physical / Work Environment
• Lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs
• 100% travel role (frequent travel to solar farm sites)
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, dust)
• Must follow all OSHA and company safety requirements

Compensation: $20.00-$25.00+ hourly/DOE
