Electronics Assembly Technician - Altimex

Altimex Ltd is seeking an Electronics Assembly Technician in Chester, UK. Responsibilities include assembling products using PTH and SMT techniques, preparing components, operating equipment, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. Candidates should have electronics assembly experience, soldering skills, and the ability to read technical drawings. Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach are essential. This is a full-time position with no degree required.
As our Electronics Assembly Technician, you’ll be responsible for assembling products using both Plated Through Hole (PTH) and Surface Mount (SMT) assembly techniques. But don’t worry, you won’t be going it alone! You’ll be reporting to our Production Supervisor and working alongside a friendly and professional team in our Chester location.

Some of your key duties will include:

Preparing electronic components for production
Operating equipment in accordance with company and IPC standards
Identifying components and placing and hand-soldering PTH Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs)
Working to drawings and bills of material
Ensuring all tasks are carried out in accordance with quality management system and ISO 9001

Carrying out all tasks in compliance with company health and safety procedures
To be considered for this role, you’ll need to have electronics assembly experience in a manufacturing environment, proven experience in electronic soldering and testing activities, and the ability to read and understand assembly drawings, schematic diagrams, and work instructions. Excellent organization and time management skills with high levels of attention to detail are a must, as well as a proactive, driven, and willing work ethic with the ability to work well as part of a team and autonomously.
