beBee Careers is seeking postdoctoral researchers for a joint ARC Discovery Project focused on warm water intrusions onto the Antarctic continental shelf. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography, Climate Science, or Geophysical Fluid Dynamics. Postdoctoral Researcher Positions
We are seeking highly qualified postdoctoral researchers to join our team and contribute to a joint ARC Discovery Project at UNSW-ANU-GFDL. The project aims to understand the processes driving warm water intrusions onto the Antarctic continental shelf.
The successful candidates will work with the project team, including Prof. Matthew England, Prof Andy Hogg, Dr Paul Spence, Dr Adele Morrison, and Dr Stephen Griffies.
The positions are funded initially for two years, with strong potential for an extension into a third year. One position will be located at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia; the other at the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia.
Job Description
This is a fantastic opportunity for researchers to engage in cutting-edge research on oceanography and climate science.
• To investigate the processes driving warm water intrusions onto the Antarctic continental shelf;
• To develop and apply novel methods for analyzing data from these systems;
• To contribute to the development of new theories and models describing the behavior of these systems.
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography, Climate Science, or Geophysical Fluid Dynamics and excellent analytical skills.
