Sustainability Specialist

About the Job

You will play a pivotal role in fostering awareness and promoting sustainable practices within our community. As an Energy Management Specialist, your primary focus will be on providing technical guidance on energy efficiency and beneficial electrification to our members.

Additionally, you will engage in public outreach to promote awareness of demand-side management strategies, including demand response and small-scale renewable energy programs.
Qualifications and Requirements
• A strong educational background, ideally with a BS degree from an ABET-accredited program in engineering, environmental sciences, community planning, or business development
• An Associate degree combined with two years of relevant energy systems/audit experience or five years of electric utility work experience
• A valid Alaska driver's license

• Are knowledgeable about solar systems, HVAC, lighting, motors, heat pumps, construction processes, building electrical systems, and load management technologies
• Possess strong communication skills to effectively engage with members and foster community outreach
