Job Description

Greensolver is seeking a BESS Director to lead and expand their Battery Energy Storage Systems offering across Europe. The role involves business development, strategic advisory, and market intelligence, requiring a strong background in renewable energy and BESS. The position can be remote or based in one of the company's office locations, with travel to Paris and other European sites for meetings and events.

Your Role

We are seeking a visionary, business-driven energy storage expert capable of structuring, expanding, and championing Greensolver’s BESS offering across Europe.

Your mission: create opportunities, influence clients’ energy strategies, deliver BESS advisory and position Greensolver as a key BESS partner.

Reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a member of the executive committee, you will play a pivotal role in the company’s growth. This role could be based out of any of the countries in which we operate, either remotely or in one of our office locations. The BESS Director would be expected to travel to our Paris headquarters when required and elsewhere in Europe for client meetings and industry events.

Your Responsibilities

Business Development

Build and cultivate a strategic network of developers, investors, utilities, and technology providers.Represent Greensolver at events, conferences, and participate in specialized panels as a speaker.Identify and structure new opportunities in markets where BESS can serve as a strategic entry point for Greensolver.Expand the client portfolio across target geographies (developers, utilities, investment funds, banks, DFIs, etc.).

Strategic, technical and Financial Advisory

Support clients in defining their BESS strategies: market targeting, technology selection, business models, investment planning.Lead high-level discussions on regulation, business models, and BESS project structuring.Conduct or oversee:technical and commercial due diligence,Financial and technical modelling, including revenue stacking,customer BESS procurement processes.Provide strong expertise on European electricity markets and their ongoing developments.

Product Positioning & Internal/External Coordination

Design and structure Greensolver’s BESS offering in line with market needs.Work closely with internal technical teams to ensure high-quality and consistent service delivery.Contribute to the development of tools, methodologies, and analysis frameworks for energy storage.Manage strategic partnerships (e.g., Stackease for revenue stacking, PowerUp for asset management, etc.).

Market Intelligence

Monitor regulatory developments, emerging BESS markets, and technological innovations.Identify innovative business models and financing structures for energy storage.

Profile

Master’s degree in engineering, energy, business, or a related field8+ years of experience in renewable energy, including 3+ years specifically in BESS (commercial, strategic, or technical roles)Proven experience in business development, client relationship management, and strategic advisoryStrong knowledge of energy storage technologies (standalone, collocated, hybrid) and their economic drivers (including revenue stacking)Experience in due diligence and/or asset management is a plusExcellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skillsFluent in English; proficiency in an additional European language (French, Italian, etc.) is an asset.
