Utility Bill Analyst:
Job OverviewThe Utility Bill Analyst plays a critical role within Environ's Energy Management and Client Services team, supporting both cost optimization and client growth initiatives.
This role is responsible for analyzing complex utility data, identifying billing discrepancies, and uncovering savings opportunities for clients.
Working cross-functionally with Business Development, Operations, and Client Success, the Utility Bill Analyst contributes directly to client value delivery, retention, and revenue expansion.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Conduct in-depth audits of customer utility bills to identify billing errors, overcharges, and opportunities for refunds or creditsAnalyze utility tariffs, supplier pricing models, and state regulations to validate billing accuracy and ensure compliancePrepare detailed case documentation and data analysis to support audit findings and client negotiationsCollaborate closely with the Director of Business Development to support client acquisition, proposal development, and strategic growth initiativesIdentify and assist with cross sale opportunitiesParticipate in client engagements, including virtual and occasional on-site meetings, facility walk-throughs, and presentations of findingsReview utility contracts and assist in validating terms, rates, and billing structuresSupport sales tax usage studies and exemption analysesContribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying process efficiencies, automation opportunities, and best practices Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate data management and reporting Perform additional duties as assignedRequirements:
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data analysis); experience with large datasets preferred Ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into clear, actionable insights Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings to clients Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment Basic understanding of utility billing, energy markets, or regulatory environments is a plusEducation and Experience:
