Job Description
Maschinen & Technik is hiring a Technician - Solar in the Philippines. Responsibilities include assembling and installing solar PV systems, performing electrical work, conducting maintenance, and ensuring safety compliance. Candidates should have a technical diploma in Electrical Technology or related fields, preferably with experience in solar installations. The position requires physical fitness and the ability to work on-site. This is a full-time, in-person role.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Assemble and install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on rooftops, ground-mounted structures, or other designated locations based on engineering drawings, site assessments, and installation plans.
§ Install mounting structures, racking systems, solar modules, and related hardware.
§ Measure, cut, and assemble structural framing and mounting components as required.
§ Perform electrical works including cable routing, conduit installation, grounding, and system wiring.
§ Install and connect electrical components such as inverters, combiner boxes, disconnects, and monitoring equipment.
§ Conduct electrical terminations in accordance with electrical diagrams and technical specifications.
§ Assist in the testing and commissioning of solar PV systems to ensure operational readiness.
§ Perform system checks, performance verification, and basic troubleshooting.
§ Conduct preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance activities when required.
§ Assist in transporting, handling, and positioning solar modules, mounting systems, and related equipment at project sites.
§ Coordinate with supervisors and team members to ensure efficient and timely project execution.
§ Support site preparation activities and installation logistics.
§ Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and site safety requirements.
§ Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools while working on-site.
§ Report hazards, near misses, incidents, or unsafe conditions immediately to supervisors.
§ Document installation progress, completed tasks, and technical observations.
§ Provide daily status updates and assist in maintaining installation records and reports.
§ Participate in company training programs, safety briefings, and technical refresher courses.
§ Continuously develop technical knowledge related to solar PV systems and electrical installations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Technical or vocational diploma in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy,
or related field.
Preferably with TESDA certification, NC II/NC III in Electrical Installation and Maintenance, or related
certification.
Experience:
Preferably with experience in solar PV installation, electrical works, or construction-related projects.
Basic knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and solar photovoltaic components.
Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, layouts, and technical drawings.
Physically fit and capable of working at heights, lifting solar panels, and performing site-based work.
Knowledge of basic safety practices and proper use of tools and personal protective equipment (PPE).
