Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Ashburn, VA, for a Senior Technician specializing in Industrial Water Treatment for data centers. Responsibilities include performing water and wastewater testing, implementing water treatment solutions, and monitoring system performance to ensure compliance with operational standards. The role also entails analyzing data to optimize water treatment processes, preparing reports, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with team members to meet project objectives and environmental regulations.




Key Responsibilities

Perform routine testing and analysis of chilled water, condenser water, and closed-loop systemsMonitor and adjust chemical treatment programs (corrosion inhibitors, biocides, glycol, etc.)Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot dosing equipment, controllers, and filtration systemsCollect, document, and maintain accurate water treatment logs and reportsIdentify water quality issues and implement corrective actionsCoordinate with operations and engineering teams to ensure optimal system performanceSupport startup, shutdown, and maintenance activities for cooling systemsEnsure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies


Qualifications & Skills

2+ years of experience in industrial or HVAC water treatment (data center experience preferred)Strong understanding of closed-loop and open-loop cooling systemsFamiliarity with chemical feed systems, test kits, and monitoring controlsAbility to read and interpret technical data, SOPs, and system diagramsBasic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsStrong attention to detail and documentation practicesValid driver’s license and ability to pass background check


Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in data centers or mission-critical environmentsKnowledge of corrosion control for aluminum and mixed-metal systemsCertifications such as Certified Water Technologist (CWT) or similarExperience with automation and control systems (BMS, PLCs)


Work Environment & Schedule

On-site at a data center in Ashburn, VAMay require shift work, weekends, and on-call rotationWork involves exposure to mechanical systems and water treatment chemicalsUse of PPE required at all times
