Job Description

SP Group is seeking a Project & Operations Engineer for Energy Storage Systems in Singapore. The role involves on-site project delivery, overseeing construction activities, and managing ongoing operations and maintenance of energy systems. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with engineering standards, coordinating with contractors, troubleshooting system faults, and supporting technical reporting. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and relevant experience in energy projects.
The Project & Operations Engineer is responsible for on‑site delivery of Energy Storage System (ESS) and energy infrastructure projects, as well as the ongoing Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of commissioned assets. The role ensures all works are executed safely, in accordance with engineering designs, specifications, schedules, and regulatory requirements, and that systems operate reliably throughout their lifecycle.




What You'll Do:




Project Delivery & Site Supervision

Site‑based during ESS construction, overseeing daily engineering and construction activities.Review and ensure site works comply with approved engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.Coordinate closely with EPC contractors, consultants, vendors, OEMs, and SP internal stakeholders to support project execution.Support site activities and proactively resolve technical, construction, or interface issues.Ensure all engineering and construction works meet required quality, safety, and WSH standards.Track construction and engineering progress against the approved project schedule and identify recovery actions where required.Support testing, commissioning, FAT/SAT, system integration, and handover to operations.Report site progress, technical issues, risks, and milestones to the Project Manager.


Operations & Maintenance (O&M)

Perform and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for ESS, Solar PV, and energy monitoring systems.Troubleshoot system faults and implement timely corrective actions to restore system performance.Maintain accurate maintenance records, fault logs, work orders, and technical reports.Support system upgrades, optimization, and improvement works to enhance performance and reliability.Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, and service providers to ensure maintenance activities meet technical specifications and warranty requirements.Support emergency response, after‑hours, and standby duties when required.


Technical, Commercial & Reporting Support

Conduct electrical, mechanical, and system inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and rectification works.Monitor system performance data, analyse trends, and recommend corrective or preventive measures.Support O&M budgeting, invoicing, settlement, and contractual reporting requirements.Prepare technical, operational, and performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.


What You'll Need:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in energy projects, ESS or O&M environments.Strong knowledge of ESS construction, commissioning, and operational requirements.Experience in site supervision, contractor coordination, and troubleshooting.Familiarity with Singapore regulations, codes, and WSH requirements.Class 3 driving licence preferred.
