About the position

The Entry Level PV Solar Field Technician III will play a crucial role in supporting the operations and maintenance of NextEra Energy's photovoltaic (PV) solar and battery storage systems. As a member of the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team, the technician will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance and reliability of clean energy systems. This position will require 80-90% travel to other sites within the west region, making it essential for the technician to be adaptable and ready to work in various environments. The technician will conduct routine preventive maintenance activities on solar panels, battery storage systems, and associated equipment. Troubleshooting and undertaking corrective maintenance to identify and resolve system issues will be a key responsibility, ensuring maximum system uptime and efficiency. The technician will adhere to maintenance schedules and follow established procedures for inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and component replacements. Utilizing monitoring software and tools, the technician will regularly monitor and analyze system performance, identifying deviations and inefficiencies. In addition to technical skills, effective communication is vital. The technician will generate performance reports and maintain accurate records of system performance, including energy production, equipment status, and maintenance activities. Following all safety protocols and guidelines is crucial to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues. The technician will also adhere to environmental regulations and procedures during maintenance activities and waste management, maintaining accurate documentation of O&M activities, including maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory records. Overall, the role requires a balance of technical expertise, safety awareness, and effective communication to support the clean energy initiatives of NextEra Energy.
